The human behind
the terminal
Hey there! I'm Rafael, a Systems Engineer who fell in love with the beautiful chaos of DevOps and software development. With 5+ years of experience breaking things in production (and then fixing them really fast), I've mastered the art of making computers do cool stuff. When I'm not automating everything in sight, you can find me experimenting with new technologies and wondering why the build broke at 3am.
I believe in infrastructure as code, blameless post-mortems, and the occasional rubber duck debugging session. I graduated as a Systems Engineer and have been living the DevOps dream ever since โ automating pipelines, wrangling containers, and making sure deployments don't become horror stories.

My Professional Adventure
From intern to senior โ a journey of bugs fixed, pipelines broken (and fixed), and a lot of git commit -m "final fix for real this time"
Senior DevOps Engineer
Tech Innovations CorpRemote ๐
Leading the DevOps transformation for a team of 40+ developers. Reduced deployment time by 70% and achieved 99.9% uptime. Basically, I'm the person everyone calls when something breaks at 2am.
- Designed and implemented multi-cloud infrastructure serving 2M+ users
- Reduced CI/CD pipeline execution time from 45 min to 8 min
- Implemented GitOps practices saving 15 hours/week in manual deployments
- Mentored 5 junior engineers in DevOps best practices
Software Engineer & DevOps
StartupRocket ๐Hybrid
Wore all the hats simultaneously (DevOps, Backend Dev, occasionally therapist for the team). Built microservices architecture from scratch and automated everything I could find.
- Built RESTful APIs serving 500K daily requests
- Containerized 12 legacy applications with Docker
- Set up complete monitoring stack with Grafana & Prometheus
- Reduced infrastructure costs by 40% through optimization
Junior Systems Engineer
MegaCorp IndustriesOn-site
My first real job! Learned that enterprise software is basically held together with duct tape and prayers. Started automating manual processes and never stopped.
- Automated 20+ manual reporting processes with Python scripts
- Maintained Linux server infrastructure for 200+ users
- Implemented backup and disaster recovery procedures
- Documented 50+ internal processes (the unglamorous hero work)
Systems Engineer Intern
University IT DepartmentOn-site
The beginning of my journey. Learned the hard way that rm -rf is not always your friend. Survived and thrived!
- Supported network infrastructure for 5,000+ students
- Configured and managed Windows/Linux dual-boot labs
- Assisted in campus-wide WiFi upgrade project
- Wrote first Bash scripts (they were terrible, but they worked!)
Thoughts from the Terminal
War stories, lessons learned, and the occasional rant about why YAML is simultaneously the best and worst thing to happen to DevOps.
